From November 19 to 20, Doris Jane Wilgason, the chairman of the Education Standard Advisory Committee of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA), Sun Hongyu, the secretary general of the nursing major teaching guiding committee of higher colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education, Gong Lihua, the secretary general of the Guanghua International Education Association and other 6 persons investigated and reviewed the nursing teaching base of our college on site. Kong Fanshi, the president, Dong Lisheng, the vice president, and the heads of the Scientific Research and Foreign Affair Office and the College of Nursing warmly received the guests.
In the symposium held on the morning of November 19, Kong Fanshi introduced the development history, educational philosophy, school-running advantage and nursing major features of the school to the visiting experts, and explained the next teacher cultivation and inner construction planning of the nursing major. The review experts discussed with the relevant persons for the admission policy, student status management, employment guidance, psychological health, student loan and internship management of the nursing major and visited the psychological health center of college students and smart room in the school.
On the afternoon of November 19, the review experts were divided into two groups and then visited the clinical practice base of our college for comprehensive investigation as accompanied by Kong Fanshi, the president and Dong Lisheng, the vice president and were warmly welcomed by the practice and teaching hospital. The review experts carefully heard the introduction of the school for clinical teaching and student internship, exchanged with some leading teachers and interns and in detail asked the clinical teaching progress and the study and life of every student.
On the morning of November 20, the review experts respectively exchanged with the teacher representatives and student representatives of the College of Nursing, further knew about the study and psychological health of every student and the teaching and further education of every teacher and then viewed and emulated the professional theory teaching and practical training teaching in the College of Nursing.
Upon the comprehensive review, the investigation group sufficiently affirmed the advantages of the College of Nursing in the school-running conditions, major construction and development prospect in the College of Nursing and the efforts of the College of Nursing in helping students grow, thought highly of the spirituality, passion for work and review material preparation of the students in the school and raised some constructive suggestions for reinforcing the teacher cultivation and increasing the communication capability and critical thinking ability of every student. Kong Fanshi indicated that the review was an important measure of our college to implement the international standards and cultivate the top-ranking professional talents and was of significance to expand the horizon of the school regarding international school-running and increase the teaching level of the nursing major. The school will carefully sort the valuable suggestions provided by the review experts, and further deepen the reform, increase input, strengthen the construction of the teacher team and promote the nursing major of our college to reach a new level in the aspect of international cooperation in education by taking the opportunity.
