At the historical point marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, the Sixth Forum of Chinese-Russian Transportation Universities, the Twelfth International Symposium of International Association of Transport Universities of Asian-pacific Countries, the Second Urban Rail Transit Sustainable Development Forum and the Third Future Scientific and Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the China-Russia Friendship Association and the Russian Ministry of Transport and co-organized by Beijing Union Universities were solemnly held on October 17 in the Great Hall of the People. About 300 leaders, experts and scholars coming from the Chinese-Russian transportation colleges and universities and the transportation enterprises participated in the activity and jointly discussed with each other for the exchange cooperation of these two countries in the transportation sector. As the vice chairman unit of the President Alliance of Sino-Russian Transportation Universities and the vice chairman unit and secretariat of the International Association of Transport Universities of Asian-pacific Countries, the school had participated in the forum activity for consecutive six years. Su Dongmin, the secretary of the party committee, Kong Fanshi, the president and Dong Lisheng, the vice president were invited to attend the forum.
Opening Ceremony of the Sixth President Forum of Chinese-Russian Transportation Universities
With the theme of “working for the new age and constructing a community”, the forum looked back the cooperative result between China and Russia for the past 70 years, focused the education and transportation development in the new age and discussed the further promotion of the transportation industry in China and Russia, especially the integrative cooperation in the high-speed railway field. The meeting emphasized to strengthen the mutual learning, jointly cultivate the compound talents of international vision, greatly promote the transportation technology and management mode to be innovated, deepen the mutual trust and communication among the countries along “the Belt and Road” and strongly support the human development of the new age in the aspect of talents.
In the meeting, Kong Fanshi, the president chaired the exchange activity of the International Association of Transport Universities of Asian-pacific Countries and made a thematic report for “deepening the cooperation, working for the future and constructing a Eurasian education community”. Kong Fanshi, the president briefly introduced the cooperation between the school and the Russian transportation universities, emphasized the efforts paid by our college for the transformation from the improvement of cooperation scale to the improvement of cooperation quality in the aspect of higher vocational education internationalization, and made three breakthroughs for the independent college established jointly by and between China and Russia, the gathering of the educational resources and the formation of a transnational team. He pointed out that as the secretariat of the International Association of Transport Universities of Asian-pacific Countries, our college should rely on the vocational teaching reconstruction capacity research center, coordinate with the Eurasian transportation colleges and universities to jointly carry out the vocational teaching research and on-line teaching resource sharing, continuously perfect the website functions of the secretariat, strengthen the mutual communication and co-construction with other colleges and universities, and realize the complementary advantages, coordinative development and win-win cooperation among the colleges and universities in the future international cooperation and development.

In the meeting, the Beijing Declaration of the President Alliance of Sino-Russian Transportation Universities was passed. As directed by “the Belt and Road” advocated by the state, the meeting strengthened the mutual trust and learning among the countries along “the Belt and Road”, especially requested to jointly promote the development of the higher transportation education in the European and Asian countries, deepen the higher vocational education industry to be internationalized, make contributions to the implementation of the national strategy and write a new chapter for the human development in the new age.
