On February 27th, ZZRVTC joined hands with the International University of East Africa to conduct online clinical training in first aid and nursing. The opening ceremony was attended by, among others, Li Fusheng, Vice President of ZZRVTC, John Jacob, Director of the Management Office at the International University of East Africa, and relevant department heads from both sides.
Li Fusheng said in his speech that “ZZRVTC has signed a cooperation agreement with the International University of East Africa for the joint construction of the China-Uganda ‘Zhan Tianyou College’. Both sides have prepared fully for the implementation of their cooperative vision, formulating talent training programs for two projects: occupational health and safety, and livelihood engineering safety emergency, while developing the corresponding teaching resources. This training course is an important part of implementing the cooperative intention of both sides.” John Jacob said, “I hope that every student present will study hard to understand this new knowledge and technology to create value for yourself and society. I expect that more fruitful results will be achieved in our cooperation with ZZRVTC.”
At the ceremony, Ms. Liu Lu, a teacher at the School of Nursing, gave a lecture entitled “Overview of Nursing in China, presenting the current status of nursing in the country, nursing career development, and the 2021-2025 plan for nursing in China. Zhang Xi gave a lecture on “new clinical nursing technology”, detailing intramedullary infusion technology, intravenous infusion ports and CPR, as well as first aid procedures and technical essentials related to foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO). The students present responded positively and engaged in active discussion with the lecturer.
The training was held jointly in China and Uganda, attended online by more than 120 teachers and students from ZZRVTC and the International University of East Africa.
