Zhengzhou Railway Vocational and Technical College (ZZRVTC) was founded in 1951. It introduced the higher vocational education in 1994, and was approved to be a full-time college by the Ministry of Education in 1999. The college is the first higher vocational college in China railway system, the only public higher vocational college of railway transportation in Henan province. and one of the top 100 vocational colleges appraised by Ministry of Education in 2010.
In 2019, the college was identified as National High-quality Higher Vocational College by the Ministry of Education, and was included in the Construction Plan of High-level Vocaitonal Colleges and Specialties with Chinese Characteristics for its outstanding education performance.
